Year 1 have a look at time

What a great day we all had at the FOG summer fair. The sun shone and the children loved playing shopkeeper at the Year 1 Fruit Kebab stall. The children did superbly, showing their growing understanding of addition and subtraction when working out total amounts and change. We have been writing instructions in English using time conjunctions and imperative verbs to give clear step by step information. At the end of the week we wrote menus using our powers of description to tempt our cafe customers to try our delicious food. In Maths we have been introduced to how the clock is broken down into 5 minute segments and how we can match digital time, analogue clocks and the words that describe the time in terms of minutes past and minutes to the hour. Our play rehearsals are progressing well, please ensure your child is secure with their lines by Monday 25th June. We would appreciate costumes on Friday 29th of June, in a named carrier bag.
