Year 1 identify mystery fragrances
30th September 2016
During the week we have enjoyed a new picture book ”Journeys” in English. Acting outside, imagining we are in one of the pictures in the book, describing what we can see, hear, smell, touch and taste using adjectives, has helped us prepare for using adjectives in our descriptive writing. We used our sense of smell in science to identify mystery fragrances such as mint, flowers, berries and lemon to then match them to their source. We enjoyed working as a team to investigate and share our opinions.
Next week we are walking to St Peter and St Paul Church, where the vicar will explain about the history of baptism and will act out a modern baptism.
