Year 1 learn a few new facts about horses

Year 1 started this week with a very exciting treat. Dylan’s mum came in to speak to us about her family owned horses. We would all like to say a huge thank you for sharing your horse facts and expertise. The children enjoyed listening to interesting facts and asked fantastic questions. We had great fun linking our new knowledge to our TOP image and trying to get a better understanding of the role the horses played in the battle. We carried on with the theme of horses in english, where children used their new learned information and non-fiction texts to create their own fact sheets. In science we explored materials further by investigating which materials are magnetic. The children were very excited to use the magnets and see how they work. We all had a go at predicting which materials will be magnetic before discussing our findings.
