Year 1 learn about onomatopoeias
3rd November 2017
This week we have enjoyed learning about onomatopoeias in English, we had our own firework display in the classroom! We wrote firework poems using onomatopoeias, ‘ohhh shouted the crowd’ Finn, ‘Bang exploded the rainbow rocket’ Sienna, ‘Whoosh shot the orange firework’ Max. In Maths we have been looking at teen numbers, using numicon the children explored how to make teen numbers matching them to written numbers. The children will be performing ‘October’s party’ next week, keep up the fantastic practising.
Please could children bring in a used up kitchen roll next week… our new topic this term is ‘Explorers’ and will be making our own pair of explorer binoculars!
