Year 1 - perfect friends, healthy plates and 3D shapes
20th November 2020

Another busy week in Year 1! This week in Maths we have been looking at 3D shapes. We named a range of shapes and described some of their properties. Over the weekend we are looking forward to spotting some 3D shapes at home.
In English we completed some more activities linking to our story, Beegu. This week we looked at how to be a good friend. We linked this lesson to anti-bullying week and shared our thoughts and feelings about ways we can be a positive friend. In the story, Beegu is portrayed to be a lonely character in search of a friend. To help Beegu we listed all the characteristics of a ‘perfect friend’ and created an ideal character to support Beegu in her adventures.
We also had a great time in Science where we designed our own healthy plates. We shared all the healthy foods we eat and discussed how much of each item we should be eating in order to have a healthy diet. We look forward to creating some more healthy plates at home during dinner time.
