Year 1 - Persuasive powers
5th March 2021
Congratulations! They've done it! You’ve done it! And we’ve done it! Thank you for all your support with teaching online, we will all be back to school on Monday. We have been really impressed with the children’s standard of work, their commitment and perseverance. especially in the last few weeks when some have found it hard going. We are very excited to have the children in school and continue their learning.
This week we were delighted how persuasive they were when writing about a new home. They used adjectives to describe the homes and included lots of detail. We have enjoyed reading about their aspirational houses and some have set that bar high. In Maths we have begun to use non standard measurements and practised using the correct mathematical terms for height, such as length, shorter than, longer than, shortest and longest. We know the children have enjoyed working away from the screen measuring items at home and at school.
We look forward to seeing everyone next week. If possible please could you include an extra snack for your child as we think some of them are going to find the whole school day, without snacks on tap a challenge! We hope you enjoyed the World Book Day challenges. Hopefully that will be the last you see of us on video.
