Year 1 plant some seeds
27th April 2018
The sun has been shining and we have been busy planting seeds. Each child planted a sunflower and identified the things the seeds would need to grow. We have been looking at Spring flowers around the school and drawing their beautiful blossoms. We used the magnifying glasses to look in detail at the flowers, to ensure our drawings were accurate.
Earlier in the week we focussed on healthy eating and looked at the food pyramid. We learnt that foods belong to food groups and each group provides different elements in our diet.
Our English work has been based on the story of Rosie’s Walk. We have learnt about prepositions that tell us where things happen and used conjunctions of time in our story writing. Once we were confident with our story writing we chose our own animal and made up a story about them.
