Year 1 - Reinventing a classic tale

Another busy week in Year 1! This week we have spent time adapting the story ‘The Three Little Pigs’. As a class we changed the characters and completed a word mat to help us write our adapted version of the story on Friday. We enjoyed changing the characters and discussing which characters would be a better fit for the story. 1SV chose to write about The Three Little Chicks and The Big Bad Crocodile and 1WK adapted their story characters to The Three Fluffy Rabbits and the Big Angry Fox.

In Maths we have been learning about capacity. We looked at different containers and compared the amount of liquid they can hold. We were amazed that some containers were smaller but they could hold more liquid than some of the larger containers.

We also had fun in Learning for Life this week as we discussed different ways to keep healthy. We worked with our friends to share ideas of what we can do to live a ‘healthy lifestyle’ . What do you do to keep healthy?
