Year 1 - Shape investigations and speech marks

It was so good to hear all about the varied activities the children had been up to over their half term break. Now they are back to the last part of Year 1!

We have been enjoying the sunshine during our PE sessions where we are practising different activities, long jump seems to be a favourite!

In Maths we have been identifying patterns and working with numbers to 100. We also carried out a shape investigation where we sorted shapes based on our own chosen criteria.

In English we are learning the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We have been very busy comparing the different settings and learning about how to use speech marks.

We have also been rehearsing our play in drama and starting to learn our songs in Music. We are very excited about the show!
