Year 1 share a very amusing story
2nd March 2018
We have had a lovely week sharing the very amusing and entertaining book, ‘A Squash and a Squeeze’ written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler as part of our World Book Day work. We wrote speech bubbles for each character imagining what they might say and are learning to use speech marks in our own writing.
In Maths our 100 day was a great success. We created things at home representing 100 and in school we gathered 100 objects such as cubes, papers and 2d shapes. We have also been learning our number doubles to double 10 and know that a double is when you add a number to itself.
We did not have Forest School on Thursday as it was a very cold and snowy day; we kept warm inside the classroom and learnt that Jewish children go to their Synagogue not on a Sunday but on a Saturday! We wrote about our typical Saturdays which involve football, swimming and friends coming to stay. Next week we will be learning about the traditional Shabbat dinner enjoyed by Jewish families.
We have been busy completing Take One Picture exhibits for our exhibition which we are looking forward to showing you on Saturday 10th of March.
