Year 1 have a visit from Grandpa John
13th October 2017
On Wednesday afternoon as part of the Ourselves topic, Grandpa John, (aka Mr Taylor) came in to speak to the children about the hazards of growing older. He spoke about eyesight and hearing becoming less sharp and of course the children squealed with delight when he pulled out some false teeth, purchased from the Charity Shop as Grandpa John has all his own teeth! The children were delighted with his visit, listened well and asked interesting questions such as, ‘When did you get old?’ The following morning we walked to St Peter and St Paul’s church where we met Elizabeth the Vicar and she spoke to the children about the ceremony of baptism. From one end of the age spectrum to the other in 24 hours.
