Year 1 - What is it like to get old?
25th September 2015
Grandfather Kemp came to share the highs and lows of aging with Year 1 this week. He told us how he has lost his hair, lost some teeth and needs hearing aids but enjoys being a Grandfather to his thirteen grandchildren, helping them by mending their toys and helping with their homework. He taught us how important it is to write thank you letters and to speak clearly and slowly to old people so that they can understand us. He was very kind and answered all our questions, he didn’t even mind when we asked him if he is 208! You will have to ask Year 1 if you want to know how many candles were on his cake this year!
Please can we remind parents that children will need to know their lines for the celebration assembly. We have a rehearsal on Monday and it would be very helpful if they could learn them by then.
