Year 1s tremendous time with Take One Picture
15th February 2019

Year 1 have had another busy week with activities based on our Take One Picture (TOP) image. The children have had a close look at the painting and have worked hard together to form their own ideas of the different characters’ perspectives, where the painting was created and the reasons for the use of cold, dark colours. In English, the children have spent time thinking of adjectives, alliterations and similes based on the picture to help them write their Take One Picture poems. On Tuesday we had the pleasure of working with Year 2 children and teachers to carry out some exciting science investigations. Children had the opportunity to investigate; objects that float and sink, various conditions for melting and creating their own origami boats. We have really enjoyed our TOP week and feel that the children have engaged well with the picture and each other to create some lovely lesson ideas.
We hope you all have a lovely half term break and we look forward to showing you all of the children’s lovely work in our Take One Picture hall display next half term.
