Year 2 enjoy reading stories about Katie Morag

The children have been enjoying reading stories about Katie Morag this half of term as many of them told during our mentoring sessions last week. They have been completing maps showing physical and human features and locating different places shown in a key.

Linked in with these stories, in ICT, the children have been using the App ‘Puppetpals’ to recreate one of the tales. They have searched the internet for scenes which they then cropped and edited the image before importing it into ‘Puppetpals’.

For their characters, they took photos from some of the books and edited these by using the cutting. They then combined their scenes and characters to record their stories. They greatly enjoyed listening to their stories and showing them to their peers. It was lovely to see the children demonstrate their skills and take such delight in listening to them.

Next week is the dress rehearsal and presentation of our Christmas play. Please can you check that everything they need is in school on Monday. We look forward to seeing you on Friday 4th December at 2:45pm.
