Year 2 enjoy a space adventure in drama
12th January 2018
This week in drama we were very lucky to have a visit from ‘perform’. The children had great fun playing lots of listening games and performing different actions for each planet. The children went on a space adventure and explored lots of different planets around the solar system. The children had great fun playing lots of listening games and performing different actions for each planet. There was an evil space commander that the children had to defeat which they accomplished by sprinkling magic friendship dust from mars around the room. The children all had lots of fun using their imaginations and acting out the story.
The children have also enjoyed finding out about our new Topic - India. We have looked at a variety of information books about India and have begun to collect some facts about the country in order to produce our own book over the next few weeks. The children used the information books to find a fact and then turned this into a question for their partner to answer. Their partner had to use the contents page and index of the information book to find the correct information and answer the question. Some of our questions were:’ Can an elephant breathe underwater?’ ‘How long does a mother tiger look after her cubs for?’ ‘How does a tiger mark its territory?’ ‘Was Pakistan ever part of India?’ In art the children have also painted some beautiful Indian elephants with water colours and added some lots of bright Indian patterns.
At home you may like to try some Indian food or find out about an Indian animal or maybe have a closer look at India using Google Earth.
