Year 2 follow instructions to make delicious chocolate crispy snowmen
11th December 2019
First of all, we would like to thank you for all your support in helping us with the children’s Christmas play. They looked fit for the stage and knew their lines! We were so proud of their efforts.
In English this week, Year 2 have been busy continuing giving instructions and realising how necessary it is to be precise. Our classrooms are festooned with paper chains and ‘rocking robin’ decorations now the children have worked out how to make them! Precise language (such as peel, pull and thread) was needed to make sure the strips of paper were put together correctly and the tail feathers were an appropriate length. The children have also made delicious chocolate crispy snowmen after ordering the instructions accurately. It was lovely to see how carefully everyone read and followed their instructions once they realised we were actually going to make them. I think they might be keen to explain what they did and even practise again at home…!
We hope you all have a wonderful time with your children and we look forward to seeing them refreshed and raring to learn in January 2020!
