Year 2 get into 'character'

Year 2 get into 'character'

Year 2roald dahl

This week we have been looking at the characters in many of Roald Dahl’s books and the way he describes them with such vivid words. The children have thoroughly enjoyed creating a new character, and dressing up as them in English
where they then used their photograph to create a detailed character description, using noun phrases and adjectives to describe their appearance and personalities.

The children have enjoyed learning about how Christians celebrate Harvest in RE. They have discussed why harvest is important to us, particularly in the olden days when food wasn’t as easily available as it is now, as well as how they can help homeless people, by donating food to their local food bank.

Would you please ensure that your child has a suitable pair of wellingtons for Forest School. These are used each week for Forest School on Thursdays and stay in school for the term.

Next week

The children are all looking forward to their trip to Aylesbury museum, where they will be finding out about the Chilterns and, also, Roald Dahl. It should be informative and great fun!

Please remember to bring a packed lunch, coat and wear school uniform (not games kit).
