Year 2 meet two special labrador puppies
26th May 2017
Year 2 had such a fantastic afternoon on Wednesday when Mr and Mrs Press brought in two of their beautiful labrador puppies for the children to meet. There were so many inquisitive questions thought up by the children, for example: what are their characters like, what sort of food do they eat, as well as when do they leave their mother for their exciting new adventures to train as a guide dog? Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed asking their questions and finding out so many interesting facts, like the puppies will leave at 8 weeks old to go to their new temporary homes where they will be socialised where they will visit many new places to help with their guide dog training which starts when they are about 2 years old. The puppies weigh 6kg each! The best part was enjoying a cuddle and a pat of Forest and Flora: they were very patient and enjoyed lots of attention. A huge thank you to Mr and Mrs Press for your time and sharing your puppies with year 2.
To support your child’s learning at home you could look at photographs of when they were younger and discuss the changes they have gone through, and, if you have a pet of your own, perhaps you could look back at the changes they have also gone through as they have grown up.
