Year 2 return to school full of beans

Year 2 returned full of beans and eager to share their half term adventure stories. Over half term it was lovely to see the children practising their measuring skills to make some delicious cakes. We are continuing our unit on measure this week and the children have enjoyed becoming ‘Measuring Detectives,’ where they spent time reading the scales shown on different measuring jugs and thermometers. The children were excellent at carefully looking at the measuring apparatus to read the scale accurately. This week we have also continued our work on seaside poetry, writing some excellent poems using all our senses and successfully adding similes and alliteration.
