Year 3 - Ancient Artefacts
31st January 2020
How can we find out about what life was like in Ancient Greece ?
This was the question posed to Year 3 this week. This led to rich discussions about primary sources. What is a primary source? What is a secondary source? Which is the most reliable ?
The classrooms were transformed into museums with Ancient Greek artefacts on display. The children were able to handle these artefacts to investigate what they were, what they were used for and what they could tell us about how the Ancient Greeks lived.
From these artefacts the children discovered that the Greeks invented the Olympics, democracy and theatre, which we will be exploring in more detail over the coming weeks, along with our trip to the British Museum where we will see more Greek Artefacts.
