Year 3 create besom brooms

As part of our Witches and Wizards fun day year 3 created besom brooms. The Maths challenge was to use their newly acquired halving skills to create a miniature broom from a full sized model. Having completed the calculation they then had a messy time measuring, cutting and sticking straw to their sticks. Great Maths and practical skills combined but probably best not repeated at home.
