Year 3 create their own class poem 'The Magic Box'

We have been using the poem ‘The Magic Box’ by Kit Wright as a stimulus to create our own poems. We started with a class poem where everyone contributed a line. We hope you like it!
The Magic Box

I will put in my box
The polluting fumes of a racing car
The glittery shine of a dazzling diamond
A calm breeze, the swish of a horse’s tail
A quiet tune from an old piano
I will put in my box
The dangerous eye of a terrifying tornado
The bounce of a smooth basket ball
The vicious roar of a velociraptor
A flash of a lightning bolt in a dark sky
I will put in my box
The steam from the boiling mud of the Soufriere volcano
The sparkle from a jewel in the queen’s crown
A sting of a platypus, an eyelash from a golden star
A sparkle in a baby’s eye, a dark rain cloud
I will put in my box
The sharpest point of a unicorn’s horn
The trickle of sticky sap as it slides down the tree
The flap of a turtle’s fin, the buzz of a bumble bee
The shadow of a bad man fighting in the street
