Year 3 enjoy afternoon of Maths challenges

Year 3 had an amazing Thursday afternoon of Maths challenges and games. Mrs Rowe kindly offered to run the afternoon which saw groups of three children rotating between the varied challenges. It was heart-warming to see the children support each other in their learning and listening to their interactions. It gave the Year 3 teachers an opportunity to see the year group interact in a different setting which will help with the task of grouping the children for next year.

“I enjoyed the Maths afternoon because I liked how there were totally different challenges. I also liked how we worked and supported each other. My favourite challenge was the dominoes.” Zachery C.

“I was very happy when I was doing the problems - especially the domino loop. The hardest was the Wizard’s cats - it took a very long time but I was so proud when I completed it. I loved it.” Jess P.

“The Maths afternoon was so much fun - my favourite challenge was called Brick Wall. You had to find a card and place it down, next you had to find the answer to the card and so on.” Aditi J.
