Year 3 learn all about the island of St Lucia

We have been learning about the physical features of the island of St Lucia in our humanities lessons. First, we worked in tables using information books to identify the types of features that exist there. We found mountains, rainforests, beaches, coral reefs, a volcano and sulphur springs. The challenge was to use a map showing these features, with just a key, to create a physical map of our own. The children enjoyed developing their map reading skills as well as using cooperation and teamwork to complete the task.
