Year 3 learn about herbivores, omnivores and carnivores
29th January 2016
In science this week the children have used the knowledge they have gained in previous weeks to match images of animal skulls to the correct animal photo. Using their understanding of the terms herbivore, omnivore and carnivore and their understanding of the function of teeth the children were able to look at the teeth in the jaw to help them make connections. Once the children had been 'detectives' they then used all the information they had gained to make food chains, this time concentrating on using the terms producer and consumer.
We look forward to Mrs Bridge visiting us next week to give the children some expert advice on teeth and how best to look after them!
Year 3 has a very exciting couple of weeks coming up. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible on Thursday evening for our Harry Potter Night of Spells. The following Thursday is our trip to Warwick Castle, please remember that we are leaving at 8:30 am to enable us to get the most out of the day.
