Year 4 children reflect on lovely day trips
2nd October 2015
Year 4 has had a very busy start to the term with trips to Holly Green Farm and Kew Gardens, as well as a fantastic Roald Dahl day last Friday. So, this week it was 'noses to the grindstone', reflecting on our learning from these lovely days out. We have made some beautiful and detailed labelled diagrams of mini beasts, written a recount of the visit to the farm and studied adaptation in more detail.
In English we have been learning about all of the different types of nouns and their functions. The focus this time was on collective nouns stimulated by the Charles Causley poem 'A leap of Leopards'. The children have created their own and prepared rough illustration of them which they will turn into beautiful drawings in Art next week.
At home, as you read with your children, please can you search together for all of the different types of nouns to reinforce what we have been learning in class.
We have learned about common nouns, proper nouns, pronouns, collective nouns and abstract nouns. The children will need lots of practice to hone their skills.
