Year 4 develop their descriptive writing skills

In English this week, we have been continuing to develop our descriptive writing skills. We have been challenged to make ambitious vocabulary choices when describing a variety of magical settings. We have also worked on developing our ability to create and sustain a sense of atmosphere in our descriptions.

In our Topic lesson, we debated whether the Vikings were invaders or settlers and found out about some of the reasons why the Vikings invaded and decided to stay. Next week, we are looking forward to creating our own Viking and Anglo Saxon settlements and will be thinking carefully about what makes an inviting village to raid!
