Year 4 explore tropical rainforests

This week, the children have enjoyed thinking about what they would like to find out about the rainforest. After sharing some of their current knowledge, the pupils discussed areas of interest and shared them with the class. Many of the children would like to find out about the types of plants and animals that live in this incredible habitat which lead to lots of questions about dangerous creatures such as the poison dart frogs! The pupils would also like to find out about the size of the Amazon rainforest and look into issues such as deforestation and pollution. We hope to answer many of these questions through our learning this term.

Next week, the children will be writing entries for thebookpeople.co.uk Bedtime Story competition using a theme of friendship. You might like to spend some time over the weekend discussing possible ideas and looking through any similar bedtime stories you may have at home.
