Year 4 - 'Get the School to Rock'
30th March 2017
This week, we rounded off our ‘natural disasters’ topic by completing newspaper reports about earthquakes. We learnt that the opening lines should sum up the story concisely, including all the key information- what, where, when, who and why. We then acted as journalists and interviewed ‘eyewitnesses’, so that we could include their quotes in our reports. We learnt that quotations tell us exactly what has been said and who said it. Using quotes helped us to tell the story by giving the reader the opinions of the people involved. To finish this unit of work, we wrote a short script for a TV news report. Finally, we enjoyed presenting these and recording each other using the ipads.
Of course, the main event this week was our end of term production! Well done to all of Year 4 for their great performance in, ‘Get the School to Rock #Riseofthestageassistants’. Special thanks must go to the multi-talented Mr Wallace, who worked extremely hard to produce this fantastic show!
As we come to the end of a very busy spring term, we would like to wish everyone a happy Easter holiday.
