Year 4 learn about electrical conductors and insulators
1st July 2016
In Science this week, we have been learning about electrical conductors and insulators. Building on our prior learning about what makes a simple circuit, we created our own working circuits in pairs. Problem solving skills were required when not all our circuits worked straight away; we had to work out which component was stopping our circuit from being complete. After making our circuits, we then tested a variety of materials to determine which ones allowed electricity to flow through them (conductors) and which didn’t (insulators). Next week, we will be creating our own switches to add to our circuits and experiment with buzzers and motors.
