Year 4 - Plant their Christmas present

This academic year, for Christmas, 4KD received a real tree to plant in the school.

With so much discussion about the importance of our environment and how vital plants are to our planet, we have done one little action and yesterday planted a tree.

We loved running the compost through our fingers as we poured it over the roots.The tree is a Bramley apple and, although very small now, we hope it will provide shelter, food and even a home to mini beasts, birds and animals. It might even produce some delicious apples for us to make some pies.

The tree has been planted in the area that the eco club has recreated for wildlife.

So we look forward to Spring as the first shoots will appear and future years when the tree will grow.
