Year 4 start to learn about rainforests
11th September 2015
We are so pleased with the way in which our new classes have settled into Year 4. We are very impressed with their attitude to learning and their polite and friendly manner.
We have been working in groups to find out lots of facts about the rainforest and to learn about the features and layout of non-fiction texts. The children have taken care to use our ‘At Gateway’ ethos to ‘get involved to get it solved’ and to ‘think and question’. They certainly seem to be ‘happy in their learning’.
We have all enjoyed making hopping frogs and painting colourful toucans. The classrooms are filling up with the children’s delightful work.
Next week;
On Friday 18th, we have a trip to a local farm to investigate habitats, so look out for a letter about that.
We will also be starting to send homework (sorry) so please help the children to check their diaries each day and plan when they will complete the set tasks. We will of course be flexible and do not want homework to be a source of anxiety or conflict at home.
