Year 4 study volcanoes and earthquakes
15th January 2016
Volcanoes and Earthquakes have been the focus for lessons this week in both English, as we learn to write clear explanations, and in Humanities lessons to find out more about causes and effects of natural disasters. We have investigated the structure of the earth, how volcanoes are formed and how the movement of tectonic plates affects the earth's crust. The children have watched these clips on youtube and been fascinated by their content. We thought you might like to see them too and discuss them further at home.

We are aware that this is a sensitive topic to cover and are approaching it at an age appropriate level. Please can you look out for pictures and articles in the newspapers about natural disasters that are happening across the world at the moment so that you can discuss them at home as well.
