Year 4 take a look at natural disasters
2nd March 2018

This week, the children have turned their attention back to natural disasters, focusing once more on volcanoes. With a view to plan and write poems about volcanoes, the students began to explore figurative language used in other poems before trying to come up with examples of their own. Along with looking at the distinction between similes and metaphors, the pupils identified personification and discussed its use.
At home, you may like to look up some poems about nature and read these together. Please also continue to practise the play words and poem for our Easter production.
