Year 4 - The eleventh commandment
28th May 2021
The Finding of Moses painting by Orazio Gentileschi provided the focus for our learning on Wednesday as we all took part in ‘Take One Picture’ day.
The children were keen to find out what happened to Moses after the events portrayed in the painting. We followed a timeline of his life and enjoyed a lively debate about The Ten Commandments and their relevance today. The children were challenged to create just one new one which would make a difference to our class, our school or our world. They created one giant tablet from papier mache and we placed some of their ideas onto the stone. Some of the examples are below:
“Equality is key.”
“Give everyone a smile.”
“Always be kind.”
“Think of others before yourself.”
