Year 4 write wonderful poems about volcanoes

This week has once again been a busy one. In Topic, the children have enjoyed locating volcanoes around the world using atlases and a variety of maps. In English, we have been focusing on using powerful descriptive language in our lessons to write a poem about a volcano. We have been challenged to use metaphors, similes and even personification to bring our volcanoes to life. In Science, we have been focusing on gases and their properties. We were amazed to watch raisins dancing in lemonade and were excited when a vitamin tablet and water was able to blow up a balloon!

Over half term, please can you help your child to learn their words for the Year 4 production, encouraging them to read with both confidence and expression, ready for rehearsals next half term.
