Year 5 discover Ancient Egypt and its fascinating history

This week the children have explored how the world was created - according to the Ancient Egyptians.
Working in groups, each person produced an illustrated ‘storyboard’ telling the tale in an animated style. Many of the children were accomplished story tellers, enjoying retelling their tale, with additional snippets of information, they had discovered themselves, from various sources.

We compared the ‘creation story’ with the religions of today and had an interesting discussion around the similarities and differences, detected in the story.
Next week we take a look at more Ancient Egyptian gods as well as continuing to discover the story of Howard Carter- in preparation for our forthcoming visit to Highclere Castle, Monday 31st October.
