Year 5 experience drawing fish in Art

This term Year 5 are looking at the art and design of the Egyptians, particularly the wonderful paintings found in Nebamum's tomb. The 'Hunting In the Marshes' scene contains beautifully detailed paintings of birds and fish and this week we have experienced drawing fish in a close up and personal way! The children were delighted and appalled at the sardines that we brought in for them to draw! Using magnifying glasses we examined the gills, fins and shimmery scales before making some super detailed pencil drawings of the fish. The results can be seen in the Art room, do come up and have a look!
