Year 5 learn about freeze framing in drama
13th October 2017
In drama, Year 5 have been working on freeze framing and bringing scenes to life. They learnt the importance of using facial expressions to convey emotion and to tell the story. Even though there is no movement or sound, the audience can begin to understand what is happening, the status of the characters and their relationships with one another. They brought freeze frames to life and learnt how to give a shared signal to re-freeze their scene. In the last two weeks, the children have been using African tales as the inspiration for this drama in connection with their work in English. Some drama lessons have ended with a frantic game of ‘God’! Ask your Year 5’s to teach it to you - I guarantee lots of fun!
