Year 5 - mummifying a banana
4th December 2020

In History this term Year 5 have been learning all about the Ancient Egyptians. The children have been fascinated when finding out about the afterlife and the mummification process. Some of Year 5 mummified a ‘pharaoh’ recently and the remainder started the process of mummifying a banana this week. They tried to make this as accurate as possible - pulling the 'brains' out with a paper clip hook, washing the body with 'wine' and even stitching it back up after! They wrapped the mummies in bandages before laying them to rest in their coffins with all of their precious items ready for the after life. They had great fun and can't wait to carry on learning all about the Ancient Egyptians!
