Year 5 present their Morpurgo project work
28th June 2019
Over the past two weeks, Year 5 have been working together to produce projects about Michael Morpurgo. These have not only improved their research skills but have allowed them to be extremely creative. They have made scrapbooks, games of Monopoly (Morpurgopoly!), Top Trumps, slide- show presentations and written wonderful poems; even a small novel!
Some very interesting facts were unearthed during their research. Morpurgo, it seems, has all his books scrutinised by his wife, who claims none of them to be as good as War Horse! He adores elephants, hence his writing of the stories, Running Wild and An Elephant in the Garden which happen to be two of the children’s favourites. Furthermore, he, like Roald Dahl, loves prawns! It must be an author’s penchant.
The children presented their projects in class and have had the opportunity to enjoy each other’s work. They can now be viewed in the classroom
