Year 5 'sort materials' in Science
17th March 2017
In Science this term, we have been ‘Sorting Materials’. We started off by considering the various properties of solids and then moved on to liquids. The children planned an experiment to compare the viscosities of 9 different liquids and were amazed at how slowly the honey and golden syrup moved down a sloping white tile. Tomato ketchup refused to move at all, at the same angle - making us wonder is it a liquid after all? Next we will be looking at various types of metal and how the properties influence the uses they are put to.
