Year 5 talk about family members in German
25th November 2016
Year 5 and 6 children have been enjoying learning some German this term. We have found many similarities (and differences!) with English words and phrases and enjoyed learning lots of catchy songs about numbers and other language to build a short conversation. Recently, we have been learning words for family members, using yet another song. After a few sniggers at some of the family vocabulary, we have gone on to state names and use our knowledge of German numbers to state ages.
We will be back to learning French after the Christmas holiday, but in the meantime, the Year 5s and 6s can also be heard in MFL lessons (and elsewhere around the school at times) practising the French version of Deck The Halls for the upcoming Carol Concert in December.
