Year 5 use persuasive writing to pitch a new invention
24th June 2016
Year 5 are learning about advertising and the art of persuasive writing. They have each developed a liquid product that has varied from flea protectors to energy drinks! They have then written a pitch, to a company, in an attempt to persuade them to take their invention; much like Dragon’s Den. Finally, they are going to create a poster to market their liquid and this will involve a deciding on a slogan or catchphrase and a means of encouraging the public to buy it. They have thoroughly enjoyed learning how persuasive writing can be used and will be displaying their finished work in the library next week. Do come and see. Also, if family or friends have any experience of advertising, they might want to talk to their child about it. Alternatively, maybe you could watch someTV advertisements and discuss their effectiveness?
