Year 6 Girls Football v Stoke Poges - Tuesday 1 March
4th March 2016
With much audible excitement on the minibus, the Year 6 girls arrived at Magnolia for their first fixture on Tuesday, against Stoke Poges in the cup competition. A committed team performance kept a very strong opposition at bay for the majority of the first half, with plenty of endeavour from the whole squad. The Gateway girls grew into the match and their confidence inspired some fluid, passing football. However, a well taken free kick enabled the opposition to take the lead just before half-time. Much of the same followed in the second half and Gateway had their own opportunities to score. Unfortunately, two quick goals dented the team's confidence and the score ended up as 3 - 0 to Stoke Poges. Well done to all the girls who played.
Squad: Jess J, Tilly W, Jess C, Rebecca P-V, Hannah, W, Roisin G, Kimberley G, Lucy L, Evie F, Freya B-H, Kristen C, Angharad B
