Year 6 head back from a fun packed week in France

It was a day of new experiences for Year 6 at the snail farm yesterday on the penultimate day of their week in France. Tasting the snails was a first for many, as indeed was eating the frogs’ legs served for dinner. In the activities this morning, there were lots of ‘firsts’ celebrated: bullseyes from novice archers; scaling climbing walls for those afraid of heights; throwing themselves down zipwires for those worried they might not be brave enough. Our Gateway’s Got Talent judges were astounded this evening by the confidence and variety of acts - which were also highly unique - cats cradling to music, sinister dance routines and surreal comedy.

What was fantastic to see in all these new experiences was the children’s support of each other and their pride in each other’s achievements.

We are really sad that our week is drawing to a close but excited that we will be back with you soon full of stories to share.
