Leavers' Destinations
Children at Gateway School undertake exams for the Buckinghamshire Grammar School transfer test and local Independent Schools. We are proud that the majority of pupils receive offers from their preferred senior school. This high success rate is attributed to the academic journey and the positive partnerships between parents and staff, in identifying the schools that holistically best fit the children

🏉⚽🏑 SPORTS DESK REPORT — GATEWAY SCHOOL 🏉⚽🏑
🗞️ This just in: it has been an exceptionally active month across the Gateway School Sports Department, with pupils delivering a series of noteworthy performances in cross country, football, hockey, and rugby.
🏃 Cross Country: Early reports confirm that pupils set off at remarkable speed, leaving onlookers questioning whether they had insider knowledge about a shortcut. Several strong finishes were recorded, and the overall level of determination was described as “impressively intense”.
⚽️ Football: Match analysis shows Gateway teams demonstrating solid teamwork, controlled passing, and a selection of confidently taken goals that left opposing sides reassessing their defensive plans. Players showed calm decision-making under pressure and a growing ability to link play effectively across the pitch.
🏑 Hockey: Observers reported fast-paced play, disciplined positioning, and swift breaks down the wing. One sequence of passing drew applause typically reserved for cup finals, despite it being a Thursday.
🏉 Rugby: Gateway pupils displayed strength, focus, and commitment across all fixtures. A standout moment included a superb cross-pitch kick that set up a teammate for a clear run and a well-executed try — a highlight that coaches have already labelled “textbook teamwork”.
Across ISA tournaments and local fixtures, Gateway teams have been repeatedly described as “energetic”, “organised”, and “surprisingly unstoppable for their size”. Staff confirm that team spirit has been a standout feature throughout.

⭐ Gateway School: A Season in Their Habitat ⭐
😄This term at Gateway has been National Geographic meets MythBusters — with a soundtrack of trumpets, drums, violins and guitars… and we’re absolutely here for it
🐄 Weekly Farm School has included children wandering in like mini farmers, calmly observing new calves being born as if this is a perfectly standard Wednesday. Even Attenborough might pause and say, “Remarkable.”
🍂 Outdoor Learning took “leaf collage” to a whole new level — intense leaf selection, artistic debates, and masterpieces made entirely from nature. You could almost hear the whisper: “Watch now as they search for the perfect leaf in their natural habitat…”
🌋 In the science labs, vinegar met bicarbonate and the resulting volcanic eruption was dramatic enough to deserve its own documentary-style slow-motion replay. No scientists were harmed in the making of this excitement.
🎶 Meanwhile in Music, the trumpets, drums, violins and guitars have been creating soundscapes ranging from gentle to absolutely cinematic. Hans Zimmer would call it “a strong opening act.”
👀 And watching it all, our Preschool and Reception smallest learners look on with pure excitement — the “glittering eyes” Roald Dahl spoke of when he said, “Watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you.”
💥 If this is only the start of the year, even Attenborough might lean in for a closer look. Gateway pupils don’t just learn — they commit.
