Year 6 pupils reflect on a great trip to France

Elliot:

'It was a fun filled week in France at Château du Broutel. There were activities from canoeing to fencing and stacking crates. The highlight of the week for me was canoeing and falling out of the boats a lot of laughter was shared. Amazing food, great to taste frogs legs!! Yum yum. The chateau grounds were flawless and the instructors were very encouraging and entertaining. Such a fun filled week, with my friends. The best trip ever!'

Eva:

'I really enjoyed the French Trip. My favourite parts were the zipwire and the fun we had in the dorms. I was with really good friends in my dorm and on the last night Angharad and Hannah were telling hilarious stories. They made us all laugh even though some of us were trying to get to sleep! The zip-wire was great. When it was your turn, you would climb to the top of high platform and everybody in your group would count how long it took you to get to the top. Once at the top, an instructor would strap you into the harness and then you jumped off! At first it was quite scary and most of the girls screamed and even a few boys on their first go! After several times you got used to it and it was brilliant! On one of our day trips we went to see the WWI trenches and tunnels which were really interesting. The food at the chateau was delicious - some of us even tried frog’s legs and snails, but I didn’t like them very much! The French Trip has been the best trip I have done at Gateway.'
