Year 6 take part in Primary Maths Team Challenge

It has been another very busy week for Year 6. In between rehearsals, they have been taking part in the Primary Maths Team Challenge. This has helped them to work together and combine the best of their problem-solving skills. The teams which have cooperated the best have divided the work between themselves effectively and shown great resilience. There is a lot of value in this exercise and it has been - I hope they will agree - a lot of fun too!

In RE, we have thought about the story of David and Goliath. Or as we like to call it 'Dave and the Giant Pickle'. This well known story is something many can relate to. In our 'Veggie Tales' version, Dave is a little piece of Asparagus and Goliath is - you guessed it - a Giant Pickle. Saul, the king of Israel thought Goliath was too big to face. David clearly thought Goliath was too big to miss! I guess the Year 6's might be feeling like they are facing giants at their next school!

In Science, we have been discussing the problem of Drug Abuse. There have been some valuable and open discussions within the classroom with a lot of great contributions.
