Year 6 will try to connect with French pen pals

Our Year 6 pupils have been gearing up to find out who will be their French pen pal this week.
Gateway pupils are being matched up with pen pals from two French schools near the town of Aubenas in the Ardèche region. They have listed some of their main hobbies and interests for Mr Lloyd in MFL lessons and are hoping to be matched up with someone with a similar interest. We will then be writing and receiving a letter per term and sending Christmas and Easter cards to our new French friends. Of course, we will be practising some of our French language in a genuine context, while the French pupils will get to practise some of their English skills. Later in the year, we plan to exchange a recorded video clip message with our French friends so that we can see them for real.
